doilies – a love story

in a day in the life, disney adventures, life and times of bilbo baggins and mr toad, random musings

The other day my cork board started looking at me funny. As it  continued to stare at me all funny-like, I stared right back in deepest thought trying to figure out what exactly was going on. After much staring and contemplation I came to an important conclusion.

“Corkboard! You are looking rather uninspired these days,” I declared,  ”Whatever shall we do about you?”

And with that I rushed off to the Wal-Mart in search of inspired supplies. When I got frustrated with the pathetic crafternoon aisle of the Wal-Mart, I wandered over to the baking supplies aisle (as I am sometimes wont to do) and that’s when I stumbled upon the doilies. I have always been a secret admirer of those doilies but they’ve been a little too intimidating on account of their overwhelming cuteness. So I’ve always preferred to admire them from afar. But on this particular day I was feeling rather bold and snatched those doilies right up.

Together with my beloved sharpies and some of my favorite inspirational Pins, I set to work and gave that cork board of mine a real makeover.

And now I just want to find uses for doilies all over the place. One could probably never have enough doily in one’s life, I reckon.

Doily. Such a fun word to say!
