blizzard blogging

in a day in the life, life and times of bilbo baggins and mr toad, random musings

Oh goodness, guys. There is a real bummer of a blizzard sweeping through the salt lake valley at the moment and it has taken the Internet down with it (aka hi! This post is coming to you from bilbo baggins and you all know how ornery he can be. TYPOS FOR EVERYONE!). All of this blizzard nonsense has given me a whole lotta time or reflection and so far these are the thoughts I am thinking:

thought the first: you know what would make this blizzard cabin fever a lot more bearable? THE INTERNET. Last night I finally started watching the west wing on a account of a) Netflix has officially rendered all of my excuses useless by adding it to instant stream and b) twitter told me to (that’s more sacred than a double dog dare). And listen, I already knew I was going to love the west wing before I even started and that’s exactly why I’ve put off watching it for so long because bye bye productivity and i stayed up until four in the morning watching way too many episodes and all I wanted was to spend blizzard time watching even more episodes and waahhhhhh.

Thought the second: because the Internet is presently MIA I have been using the day to get caught up on all of my podcasts. Embarrassing fact: I am ridiculously behind on my podcasts (111 episodes behind!). But today I learned just how much I have missed my podcasts. My favorite recent discovery is Slumber Party with Allie and Georgia. Probably because they build pillow forts and interview all of my Internet crushes.

Thought the third: speaking of Internet crushes, I like to play this game in my head in which I am BFF will a bunch of famous people and we all just go to brunch all the time and laugh at each others jokes and have the best time. My super awesome clique includes: rembert Browne (obvs), Lena Dunham, grace helbig, and Hanna harto. The best time.

Thought the final: I just miss disney more and more every day (it probably doesn’t help to know the current temperature in Orlando is 80 degrees). Now don’t get me wrong, I know coming home was the right choice for me but I just miss the magic and the love and my pal Mickey and my incredible roommates an sometimes I just really hate that so many of my friends are scattered all over the country because I just want to be able to go to dinner in France and eat some of that sinfully delicious macaroni and cheese. Ugh, feeeeeeelings.

Alright, I’m gonna go refresh my browser 100 more times in the hopes that that will fix the Internet. If you find yourself needing to brave the blizzard please drive carefully!

[update!] so….the second i finished this post i went to my computer and hit refresh and lo and behold the internet is back! isn’t that just typical? also, i just learned that this storm is called ‘Gandalf’ and if that isn’t the silliest thing I’ve ever heard I don’t know what is. Now, on to the West Wing!
